Learn To Skate is a beginner ice skating program. Lessons include 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of free skate. Each registration is for 6 weeks of classes, totaling $195.

Each program includes a certification of achievement upon completion. Register with Learn to Skate USA to receive your welcome package and Basic Skills record book!

Learn to Skate Levels

Learn to Skate is designed to build a strong foundation for any aspiring figure skater or player. Below you'll find a quick overview of Learn to Skate levels, starting with beginner levels. 

  • Snow Plow Sam (Levels 1-4) - Designed for children ages 5-6 to learn and experience the thrill of ice skating.
  • Basic Skills (Levels 1-6) - Teaches the fundamentals of ice skating and provides the best foundation for success. Six progressive levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers and turns.
  • Pre-Free Skate - Comprised of a variety of progressive skating skills, transitions, spins and jumps.
  • Hockey (Levels 1-4)- Focused on the fundamentals of skating skills, edges, turns, quickness and agility for players to be successful in games. (First time skaters must pass Basic 2 to participate in Learn to Skate Hockey).
  • Adult (Ages 16 and up) - Teaches skating fundamentals, drills and exercises geared to adults.

Parent Skate Suspended

Due to a large class size and limited ice space, parent skate is suspended this session to ensure the safety of all class participants. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation. Thank you!

FAQ and Requirements

Learn to Skate Checklist

  • Skates: Rental skates are provided to all skaters, and are recommended for first-timers.
  • Helmet: Required for all Basic 1 students and skaters ages 7 and under (not provided by rink). Please see helmet guidelines.
  • Clothing: Warm, comfortable clothing is strongly suggested (no oversized, restrictive clothing, or jeans) Use thin, above the ankle socks to prevent blisters and skate rub. 
  • Parent Policies

    • A parent or responsible adult must remain at the rink to ensure safety

    • Parents must check-in at the front desk ($5 per session/$25 for all sessions) prior to skating on the ice

  • Missed Class Policy

    • Please be aware that there are no makeup dates for missed classes!
